Hi all
Please could you advise me if there is another league in this district other than central lancs, I am trying to set up a new team under 13s and have been told that there is a waiting list to get into central lancs or maybe this isn’t true and only established clubs have a chance of getting in
I know that cljfc is the way to go and is the best league around but if I cant get in I would like some direction.
So what are my options if any body knows of local leagues of a good standard please advise, I have nothing in place as yet but would like advice and any info would be great thanks

Hello pal
As far as I know basically you have to be an established club to enter the cljfc basically its because it’s the best league around in this district and every football club quite rightly wants to join it.
With regard to the other league all I know is that there is a 9v9 im not aware of any other league and to be honest most of the main stream teams go 11v11 and then the new and lesser teams go 9v9 then later on to 11v11 I think Blackburn run a league but elsewhere im not sure but I think the way to go is central lancs.
Hope this helps |

Depends if you want to play Sunday or Saturday.
One of the OTHER best leagues around is the Bolton, Bury and District Junior Football League which is a Saturday league and offers 7 v 7 for under 7s to under 10s, 9 v 9 for under 11s and under 12s.
Please note the "lesser" teams dont go 9 v 9 in this league, they all do.
(Could I also point out the first 2 years of running 9 v 9, the league offered both options and when the age group came back togther at under 13s the top 6 teams in the top section all came from the 9 v 9 section and the bottom 6 came from the 11 v 11 section!)
Under 13s and above is 11 v 11
The website is www.bbdjfl.org
Sunday leagues around are the Wigan and District YFL, Bolton Boys Federation and Bury and Radcliffe League.
The problem with most leagues though is that they have a radius were they accept clubs
The only acception to this is the Bolton Boys Federation which has been struggling for membership for years now and will accept clubs from anywhere.
Hope this helps
